For thousands of years, man has played music on string instruments that were primative relatives of the present-day guitar. Today, the guitar has achieved a level of unparalleled popularity world wide. There are many reasons for this. However, some of the more obvious ones may be the less significant. Could it be that the instrument's outstanding presence these days is more a matter of timing...like music itself. All things and occurances unfold in an orderly fashion and with a purpose. In the case of the guitar, its time seems to have come. The guitar is everywhere, but is this a simple matter of its portability and simplicity in design, or other factors that makes it so popular. Or, is there a deeper and more profound reason for all those guitars. Is it perhaps that the shear number of guitars out there have finally arrived at this time...a time of need, as if they were destined to do be here now.
